Pros

Diversified Varied shifts Diversified Varied locations

Cons

Games get played with promotions!!! Job descriptions are changed to allow certain people into positions then changed back. Regardless of tenure, one can be passed up for promotions because the "powers that be" want a particular person in a role that is a "yes man/woman" instead of someone more qualified. People have even been promoted into director roles without having a degree and/or little to no experience vs someone with a degree or years of experience. Raises are not fairly given. Again, tenure does not matter. Compensation needs to bring positions and salaries up to the current market value, Work life balance is a joke!!!!

Pros

Higher pay rate than Alabama.

Cons

Relocation bonus is bogus. Relocation bonus did not assist with any moving cost what so ever. The night shift charge nurse was no help on my first day off orientation. I was body shamed for wearing a scrub jumpsuit to work. The CNO always came to me with complaints but never followed up with me regarding my experience as a new employee at this company. ER doesn’t call report before they transfer patients to the floor. Patients have come to the floor with orders for a heparin drip and they haven’t even drawn the baseline anti-xa lab or even attempted to start the heparin drip. The nurses don’t even know how to do IVs or draw labs during a rapid situation. They show favoritism. They lie and assassinate peoples character. It is a very toxic work environment. They give the first admission to agency/travel nurses and new hire nurses. They’ll float a full time nurse more than once and let an agency nurse stay. They’ll adjust the assignment to benefit certain nurses. The CNO is stereotypical and is untrustworthy. They will tell you to leave and turn your badge in but still keep you on the schedule to make it seem like you abandoned your job. If you submit your concerns to HR, they never respond. Their insurance only covers Wellstar facilities. If you want to be treated at another hospital outside of Wellstar, your insurance will not cover it, even if you chose the highest insurance policy. Even though I was full time and only supposed to work every other weekend, the CNO made me work every weekend to accommodate her senior employees.
