I am unhappy to hear that you had experienced what felt like disregard from our Executive Director, as it is our policy, and hers, to always treat all employees with respect and dignity. If you have any specific concerns please reach out to me directly at why@whyhunger.org. While we acknowledge your point of view, we strongly support our Executive Director and have no history of similar concerns from staff or partners of the organization.
WhyHunger has been engaged in a multi-year process to deepen our practices and policies around racial equity. Led by a rotating cohort of staff at all levels of the organization, this process is heavily supported by our Executive Director (and she is an active participant) and includes: racial justice education and self-reflection, skill building, examining power and privilege within our organization, reworking policies and practices to be explicitly anti-racist and shifting our organization culture.
