Pros

If your face fits what they want then you are fine if not you are wasting your time. I would advice working for a proper law firm.

Cons

Oppressive culture, you feel like you are in an abusive relationship. Bullying and harassment is acceptable at the company, attitude that you can do what you want as long as you are in with management. Opportunities not there for everyone. Extremely high staff turnover, the people who are completing training contracts are only holding their breath until they qualify so they can leave, the training contract you don't even complete proper seats, trainees are not paid for study leave and are moved around based on business need and not for their development. Too much work for the staff they have, unrealistic expectations. Extremely low salary. Unless you fit the mould of what they are looking for there is no recognition. The experience looks horrible on your cv as they have a very bad reputation. If you are a recent graduate I would stay clear. They are rouge, take advantage of their clients for money and Sue their clients, they are a poor excuse for a law firm. If there is any justice they will be investigated by the law society for their practices.

Pros

- You’ll gain some experience you can use to move onto a healthier and less toxic work environment - Leaving will make you appreciate any future employer that treats staff with even a basic level of respect

Cons

- The work culture is built entirely on fear and unattainable expectations and targets. Targets are set deliberately high and the second you fall short, even if it’s only for a month, you become the next target of management, feeling like your job is hanging by a thread. - The management team is unprofessional and show absolutely no boundaries. Several are involved in personal romantic relationships with each other, which not only causes favouritism but also means they spend more time focused on their private lives than on supporting their staff. Those same managers are untouchable because they’re protected by directors, no matter how poor their performance is or how toxic their behaviour is. Staff complaints and concerns are ignored because loyalty to personal relationships comes before fairness or accountability. - The turnover rate demonstrates how poor the work environment is. Within the year I worked there, upwards of 60+ people left the department I was in alone. Nobody sees this as a long term career, employees use it purely to gain experience before moving on. The atmosphere among staff is cliquey and petty, with gossip and office politics overshadowing any real sense of team work. This company destroyed my mental health and left me anxious, burnt out and paranoid. I would strongly advise anyone considering a role here to think twice. The experience you gain here is not worth the personal cost, and there are far healthier, more professional environments to build your career in.
