Pros
The office and colleagues are awesome to work with. Culture is a huge part of what we do. Opportunities are a plenty for playing with the latest Cloud Platform technology, and there has been a real push on training for all of us to upskill. I have been able to have honest and frank conversations with everyone in the company all the way to the top. I've got the freedom in my role to do the things I need to do without any micro management. There is significant trust put on colleagues to deliver on their work, which I enjoy. Being able to collaborate and debate technology decisions is really rewarding, and enables us to have better outcomes. They pay market rate, and have some good perks (inclusive private health care, dedicated training time, free lunch Wednesdays, free bacon Fridays, snacks/drinks). Had a few awesome socials too.
Cons
A couple of things I'd like to see improved going into the new year. A consideration on the flat structure and if we are truly getting the most from it. We don't need an autocracy, but it could be argued that management layers are spread too thin. Some of our tooling is not fit for purpose and needs reviewing (albeit a major piece of work, it should not be overlooked) Hiring has been a little challenging getting the right candidates to fit what we are after (culture, soft skills, technical). Currently this has left a gap in resources which we need to resolve. If you're looking for a role then reach out to Wirehive!
