Pros
- You will learn a lot to survive in the IT industry. - You will learn how to convince people and manipulate them. Also you will learn that skills are not important just communication and flattering will take you ahead. - You will have leniency for leaves and WFH and other things. Office environment is not that bad.
Cons
- You will be accountable for bringing projects whereas there is a dedicated sales team and BAs for that. Still you will be expected to get projects for yourself, don't know how. - You will be judged based on your billing and revenue that you generate for the company, but that is not enough, you have to flatter and butter everyone around you. - You will be shown good figures in the Open House meetings about the most profitable quarters and most profitable year, but when it comes to giving appraisals the project you work in will be considered and not the work. If the project is profitable to the company you will get good appraisal but if the project is not that profitable and even if you are fully billable, it does not matter as they think reducing employee cost is the profit. - That's how they grow 3x in 3 years. - Just check the actual employee count in the past 2 years.
