Pros

Rapidly growing young and vibrant place, varied and interesting work, numerous training and career advancement opportunities, new labs with state-of-the-art instrumentation, a great and evolving culture that recognizes individuality, achievement and new ideas.

Cons

May not have all of the cachet of being in Cambridge, but commutes are certainly better.

Pros

This is a small laboratory that is rapidly growing and thereby provides opportunities for all employees to advance. A unique aspect of the company is the breadth of research experience from small molecules to synthetic polymers and biologic drugs that allows me to easily gain new experience and grow my skills. Wolfe Laboratories attracts challenging drug development projects which contributes to an intellectually stimulating work environment. I wasn't sure about the culture I would encounter based on the Glassdoor reviews, but everyone was very helpful when I started. I'm pleased to find after 1 year working here that there is a strong team mentality of helping others and most people enjoy getting together for monthly social events. Listening to the stories of other employees I learned that there were some justification for negative reviews, but I also learned that the culture and benefits dramatically improved. I continue to observe an ongoing commitment for self improvement that is shared by my colleagues.

Cons

Wolfe Labs was acquired by Pace Analytical and the process of integrating into the larger corporate structure is not complete yet. This integration process sometimes raises annoying changes, but overall offers more positives than negatives.

Pros

As with any other company (no matter how bad they are), you will find some kind souls and good technical folks keeping the sanity in the total chaos. I really appreciate them for holding up and balancing out the disorder - but the question is for how long?

Cons

Hmm...where do I start? I'm pretty sure if you search on the internet, talk to folks who have worked and have been working at the Wolfe laboratories/Pace Analytical Life Sciences, Woburn (past Watertown), MA, will reveal the nitty gritty of the work culture you otherwise would miss during an interview. I highly recommend to get in touch with the people who had been a part of this company before you commit your professional career and time to this company. Listen to them! Every suggestion won't be far away from the harsh reality - no matter how much they try to 'soften up' their culture on the web. Certain companies do not learn from the mistakes and at the receiving end are the humans, in this case, technical staff who feel the heat of their mismanagement, misleading 'motto', and extremely poor communication between upper management-HR-technical staff. Stay away as far as possible and if you're already in, try to get out before ship sinks to the bottom.
