Wolseley UK Response
1wHi there,
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We understand your frustrations and have made the Leadership Team aware of your sentiments.
We do understand that, unfortunately, changes in leadership and structure can impact teams and individuals in different ways. It’s never the intention to cause additional stress or worry when this happens, but this is necessary to ensure we meet the needs of our customers in what is a constantly evolving market.
Despite some change we are pleased to say we are beginning to see the benefits of this. For example, our Stockbusters scheme which is linked to our three strategic pillars. In its first quarter, most of our branches hit their target – and so not only did they earn a bonus payment, but they also unlocked money that can be reinvested in the areas you’ve mentioned, such as our digital systems and capability.
We know these issues – along with pay and benefits - are key things to get right so there’s a lot going on in the background which we’ll be talking more about soon, as well as our wider strategy.
We also understand that offering fewer avenues for you to have your say may have added to your sense of frustration, and so we’re pleased to say that another positive step comes in the shape of a long overdue colleague engagement survey, which we’re currently preparing to launch.
Please also be assured that this won’t be a one-off. It will be part of an ongoing listening strategy designed to give all colleagues a voice that we know has been lacking for a good while now. Sorry it’s taken us so long to get to this point, but improvements are on their way – we promise!
Thanks again for commenting, and please keep an eye out for internal updates on all things engagement in the coming weeks and months.
