I’m sorry to hear you didn't feel that your time at Wordbank was positive. A working relationship should be win-win for both parties, so we wish you all the best in finding a company that is the right fit for you.
Since you gave us your input here, I have met on a 1:1 basis with our London teams, to hear feedback across a range of topics, including those you raised. It has been a useful time investment that has given us, as a leadership team, a greater understanding of how our people are engaging with Wordbank in 2018 and what we might do to respond, evolve and improve. I’ve heard high levels of support and positive feedback across topics of autonomy, development, leadership, company culture and work life balance and had some constructive discussions about how we could further develop. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the landscape has shifted dramatically for young people coming into a busy London agency environment like ours. Pressures, expectations and perceptions have changed, and that has resulted in some disconnects that we haven’t seen before.
Wordbank has always been a great place for achievers to thrive – we have high expectations of ourselves and the ambition to go with it. We do also recognise, though, that we have a responsibility to equip our Wordbankers with the tools and grounding to be able to survive and flourish in today’s changing working world. We have already rolled out a number of changes to our people programmes based on the feedback we have gathered, and I am looking forward to working collaboratively with our teams on further changes as we continue to grow.
