Pros
It may sound like a child chasing a candy but it is important for me to have a nice office in an environment that I can feel inspired and motivated. Financial advisors are blamed for a lot of stuff going on these days, you name it, even the financial crisis. I like working in this company for several reasons. As I mentioned the office is beautiful, outstanding and motivational. That's very important. The company also gives you the chance to shine and believes in us as advisors. There is not a lot of control regarding what we do; it may sound silly but we all come from the best universities and some of us have been working a while in this financial world. Bottom line is let us do what we know best. Again the staff is really diverse and multicultural. I like that because we see some talents from Europe, where in my opinion have some really advanced ideas regarding politics and economy. Don't get fooled because there are some countries now having real problem. Overall working here has been great, the management leaves you alone, there is a lot of fresh talent and the pay is very good. I recommend this company and I think everybody has to experience Vancouver, one of the most amazing cities in the world.
Cons
It is a bit challenging to deal with some of our customers, especially the ones that think that because they invested in some bonds and stock, they know about finances. Hours are literally full time, the thing is that I consider myself passionate about this job so it is more of a lifestyle than a job. If you want a job to disconnect when you get home, go to another department.
