As CTO, I’ve been able to create real momentum across the technology function — moving people into new roles to better align with their strengths, opening up fresh opportunities for growth, and ensuring we have the right people in the right seats. Over the past year, we’ve increased salaries in line with performance and market trends, and invested in building a culture where people can grow, adapt, and genuinely thrive. The organisation has been on a strong upward trajectory, and I’ve had the autonomy to shape a modern, agile IT operation that delivers real value — from modernising infrastructure and migrating core systems to the cloud, to implementing scalable platforms that enable smarter, data-driven services for our clients. We’ve built strong partnerships with vendors, streamlined service delivery, and tightened our cybersecurity posture — all while aligning IT with strategic business outcomes. Leadership here values impact over ego, and I’ve had real freedom to deliver meaningful change.

Cons

Honestly, I don’t have any major cons right now. That said, hard decisions have had to be made as part of moving the business forward — and while necessary, they’ve not always been popular. Naturally, this has led to some people feeling unsettled or disgruntled. But with clear communication and a strong sense of direction, the organisation is in a much stronger place as a result.
