Pros
Offices are open, modern, and on-site canteens are great. Decent opportunities if you know the right people and your face fits. Genuine effort made with employee engagement but usually to distract from the poor retention, security, and reputation. Some great, focused colleagues across the business who deserve better. Apprenticeship opportunities are great for younger people new to the working world on an average salary. Good stop gap to gain the necessary experience before moving on to somewhere better.
Cons
Senior management are poor, cliquey and an old mans club. No interest in modernising the work place and staff members are numbers. Witnessed some horrific behaviour of seniors towards colleagues, especially in retail. Year long probation period to allow staff members to be dismissed just before probation ends or any time throughout without warning or intervention. No job security and most people fear getting let go daily. The company has such a poor reputation in the local area and wider industry so it's very hard to recruit for positions. Minimum hybrid/flexible working opportunities and you are monitored constantly. Negative feedback is never taken on board and colleagues silenced.
