      Well intentioned non-management consultants work hard.

      Cons

      Mid-level managers operate with limited ethics. It's all about getting ahead and looking good for upper management - marketing and communications consultants are expendable and treated as fall guys for manager failings.

      Work-life balance, okay benefits, and cemented impact on the community

      Cons

      Because the company has a bottom line, promotional paths aren't really a thing beyond individual contributor to manager. I don't know what the next level up would be besides that.
