Pros

Coworkers are generally relatable, everyone seems to stick together on remaining social and going through the daily grind. You get some nice exposure to cool things such as laser etching, wraps, premium paints, and some otherwise really cool desktop builds. Could be a great entry job if not for the cons.

Cons

Thar be dragons. The company's owner is, what I would classify as, a severe sufferer of PPD (Paranoid Personality Disorder). I understand the concern to want to protect high dollar product, but the extent one can go is easily considered 'too far'. The workplace is like a slice of 1984, with back channel communication amongst management over every miscalculated step someone has taken. My most cherished memory was the owner installing a racing chair in the lounge, with the 'intent' to have it be used by employees on break - but it, more or less, was off limits unless you were one of his young children who frequented the office. For the most part, beyond the excessive amount of locked gates and cameras every 5 or so feet in the building, the owner seems to really keep to himself - unless you're in management, and he has a bone to pick with someone in your department through you. Speaking of management - this place is very dramatic for those in management, or those who have a great involvement with the management. Those who think differently of the COO are fast-tracked toward being unemployed, and anyone who may have some sort of question over the state of the CSM software or the website in general are typically found to be in a very uncomfortable spot very fast. Overall, if you're looking for an open door environment that values input and seeks to work toward an equitable middle ground - this is definitely not the place. Turnover is pretty rough, especially in Sales and the build room, and it's hard to maintain positive relations with those above you as well as a positive outlook. I miss the good days at this place - but I'm definitely happy to be rid of the stress.

Pros

- Benefits (Health insurance, PTO, etc) - Respectful management - Rewarding work - Good work-life balance

Cons

There weren't any cons, really. The prebuild industry is in a tough spot at the moment so it could be slow at times, but working here was pretty much all positive.

Pros

There are no positives for working under an owner who does not stay true to his word!

Cons

I am absolutely furious! After pouring my heart and soul into Xotic PC for nearly three years, this is how they repay me? Four weeks ago, I had a conversation with Justin Nolte, the owner, about adjusting my schedule to part-time so I could better care for my children. He seemed understanding, even expressed how valuable I was to the team and assured me that adjustments could be made. But what happened today? I got unceremoniously laid off! Justin hired someone new and tossed me aside like I meant nothing to this company! I was the top performer for months on end, and I have the numbers to back it up! I didn't quit; I simply asked for a reasonable adjustment out of respect for my family and loyalty to this company. Yet, what did Justin Nolte do? He showed his true colors and terminated my position at the first opportunity! We had an agreement for me to work 20 hours a week, but apparently, that meant nothing to him. This morning, I was told they didn't need me for the remainder of the week. When I dared to argue, to stand up for the agreement we made, what did I get? The boot! Xotic PC claims to value its employees, but it's all a facade! They cannot be trusted! They only care about themselves. If you ever dare to stand up for yourself, if you have the audacity to demand what's fair, they'll kick you to the curb without a second thought! I gave everything to this company, and this is what I get? Well, they've lost more than just an employee today; they've lost any semblance of loyalty or respect from me. And mark my words, I won't let this injustice go unanswered!
