Pros
You have the choice of taking up a set delivery run of different deliverables (food, paper sheets, marketing promos, tyres etc) taking up adhoc deliverables. I prefer the adhoc jobs with a mix of set runs (assisting with others drivers who can't complete set runs for whatever reasons). I like the freedom and independence as it doesn't tie you down to an office, chair or work site. The variety of the jobs to be delivered gives me the challenge as everyday it's never the same as the previous. It's always different in terms of the deliverables (office equipment or furnishings provided by client company to one of their staff who is working offsite from home in a remote and idealic suburb outside of Greater Sydney with a dirt track driveway for example). I actually enjoy driving and have a manual (twin turbo of cos) vehicle and relish those assignments with long driving kms (Newcastle, Katoomba, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Wollongong etc) and those tricky winding, twisty, hair pin curves, narrow, ascending, descending, sealed, unsealed roads. Plus you have the great support from head office and dispatch team even if you get lost or the receiver is closed or not home. Ever since driving for Yellow, I have never once dreaded the Monday-itis. Honest secret is - it's what you make out of your delivery.
Cons
The joys of using Sydney's roads, motorways, tolls and traffic (just have a good playlist and upgrade your vehicle sound system).
