Pros
Though the company is on the cutting edge of food tech, you don't have to be a foodie to enjoy working here. Some co-workers just microwave or eat out, others are into sous-vide and molecular gastronomy, others in between. The people are great here; they are not only good in their respective fields, but they're good human beings. We don't tolerate jerks, and the flat company hierarchy means you might be sitting next to interns or the CEO, and everyone is equally approachable if you have questions or suggestions. Ideas are heard and considered, no matter what your title is or how long you've been working here. You have a chance to take on new or different responsibilities and titles if your interests change. The Whirlpool acquisition has been great, too - they want us to keep focusing on making the best products possible and not change our company culture.
Cons
Career opportunities are there if you want to step up or across teams, BUT they are not necessarily obvious. Because the hierarchy is so transparent and flat, you have to take an active role in your career development. That said, when you DO go to management for career development help, they're always ready to listen and help chart a course. It's just not necessarily defined for you to passively "browse" or see ahead of time what options you might have.
