My role was to develop eLearning content for Pharmuni, the company’s commercial learning platform. It became clear early on that the team lacked basic knowledge of learning design, pedagogy, and instructional best practices. Simple things like writing learning objectives were misunderstood. Most of the "eLearning" work involved making slide decks with AI-generated text and stock images, with no real strategy or focus on the learner. Sadly, no one working on the project seemed open to learn more about learning. For someone with a background in education and instructional design, this was a frustrating (frankly embarrassing) environment. The company culture also felt hierarchical and male-dominated. Leadership communication often consisted of awkward, top-down speeches that aimed to motivate but missed the mark.
