Pros

There are plenty of things to learn considering they don't train their employees. From being hired or earning a promotion you're on your own to figure things out, it's like being thrown to the lions.

Cons

Was told from my interview that I would receive full benefits including dental and vision only to realize you get the basics excluding dental and vision. Room for growth will be promised however you are stuck in the same position for many years. Looking to get an increase every year, be prepared to come in early, work long hours and don't count on being sick and maybe you will get a lucky and receive a 0.5% salary increase. CEO/President is greedy, arrogant, very cheep and very manipulative. This man has a dictatorship mind state. He will charm your socks off during the interview process and will sell you hopes and dreams, but at the end of the day they are only hopes and dreams. He treats 95% of his staff like crap expect for his few favourites that he treats well. He will micromanage everyone not knowing what your daily tasks include on a regular basis. He walks around the office like a General insuring you're in your seat doing your work. This also happens in the warehouse to where no socializing is allowed or permitted. He is also very condescending and rude to his employees to the point where he makes you feel useless. This is the scare tactic the he uses with everyone to the point you feel that you are not good enough to be working anywhere else, therefore you give up and just accept that this will be the last place you will ever work and put up with his mistreatment. In the last 2 years I've been told and heard that the turn over has been high. Close to 30 people in and 30 people out. Do the math on this and it's close to 100% .

Pros

there are some nice people working at Zaneen. Actually most people are nice.

Cons

• Micromanaging is so normal. • Most people don't get paid vacation, some can get time off by making up for it. • There is anger management problem among higher management, so you would see people being yelled at regularly. • Due to all of this other than the upper management who are the owners of the business, people are generally stressed out and unhappy.

Pros

A few colleagues were genuinely supportive.

Cons

Zaneen is a small, family-run company that checks every box of a toxic work environment. Micromanagement: Everything is controlled by the owner. Even in areas where you have professional expertise, decisions get overridden by him, and you get the “I’m the owner of the company” talk. Every chance he has to say that sentence, he will - in case you forgot who you’re talking to. Abusive environment: the owner is frequently rude to employees, raising his voice over any insignificant inconvenience, and if you ever get into a discussion with him, he will not let you talk; he interrupts you at all times. Very aggressive behaviour. Double standards: the owner absolutely hates remote work, you will be informed that remote work is not allowed, only to find that a handful of people work either fully remotely or on a very generous hybrid schedule. But cohesion and fairness are not something you can expect from this company. Blame on others: upper management often blames delays or errors on other departments when they are the ones holding up the workload. “We’re a family”: they often refer to employees as family, or Z-fam. That’s a big red flag. They could do themselves a favour and stop using that terminology; it displeases every employee. We all know which family really matters in this company, and that employees are not a part of it. Even the fridge in the kitchen has a label so employees don’t use the “family” side.
