Pros

A new position within the company allowed me to work from home. I loved that. There was free food often. A lot of perks…only to cover up the BS.

Cons

I waited a while after getting back into my original career before writing this review so that it wasn’t built on emotion but fact. I took the job because the car business was changing due to COVID and interest rates. My wife lost her mother and I wanted to be with my family more. Zters seemed like a great idea because it offered me what I needed. More time with the people I love. However, I was terrible as an account manager. Coming from over 10yrs in actual sales, I knew after 60 days this wasn’t the career path for me. This is a brokerage company. I won’t get into the shadiness on the account manager side of things because there’s enough of it being talked about. I was on my way out the door, applying to car dealerships again. However, someone told me about a new portion of the company they were creating which is now the Operations department. This was my only reason for staying. Everything was ok at first until I realized how unorganized and built on favoritism Zters was. This department was so off the rails that things would change weekly. New rules and structures were put into place monthly. Nit picking. Micromanaging. No one of management was on the same page. Instead of giving commission they gave a point system where you bought things from their personal catalog. Raises were minimal for the tasks you were responsible for. And to be very honest it doesn’t matter how good you are at your job, it doesn’t matter what tasks you get done, how fast you get them done, how hard you work or what positive change you can bring to the company. What matters is how much ssa kissing you’re will to do. How much does it matter to be apart of a clique ? I didn’t fit in at all and I wasn’t trying to. I was myself. I had upper management try to add me on social media and engage in personal conversations I wasn’t comfortable with. Sleeping with eachother and going out on drinking adventures wasn’t for me. I had a few people I hung with but that was it. This IS definitely a family oriented company. I realized after being there for over a year just how Zters was ran so I started to move closer and closer toward leaving. It showed in my work performance and I honestly didn’t care anymore. Zters fired me because of “ productivity “ then later told colleagues I was fired for lying. Not too sure where or how that was as I was never shown that. Not once. However, I’m glad it happened as I was able to get back to where I am now. The place is toxic and full of negativity. A lot of the people there are very weird about things. I think Bria is one of the best employees at Zters. She stays out of the way and takes care of HR issues. When I was hired I asked what should I do to be successful at this company? I was told by upper management to “ make friends … “. That told me a enough.

Pros

Two specific employee’s at Zters genuinely ruined my life for the time being. So I enjoyed working for this company at the beginning, but realized soon how tight knit it was, & the moment you rub anyone the wrong way within a certain “group,” you would be fired. Without any prior warnings, even though you’re told you would get a heads up and several warnings, especially if it was performance based. For context, I was hired on as an account manager & my partner was employed not longer after me. The culture at ZTERS really does feel like family as multiple families work there together, and I felt comfortable being able to work alongside my loving & supportive partner. Surprisingly enough, although he never had a desk job & had a physical laborious background, he enjoyed the job even more than I did. I was happy about that. And I thought it was a great opportunity for both of us to grow in this company due to my education background in Business Administration (even though they don’t require degrees) & his (newfound) talent to sell to construction companies. We both got along with everyone there, there wasn’t a single person I felt I was ever walking on egg shells with. They had a program that allowed me to finish my final course for college while employed there, that was fully funded by them, so I will say there are some amazing people who run the company! Furthermore, we were both excited to either move up in the company or perform so well that we would get awarded with many of the cool “prizes” they offer when employees exceed their sales goal.

Cons

That was until I realized that these CSS’s will fire you just because they’re tired of working with you, or having a bad day themselves for no other reason than their own. I know this because I was fired due to “not hitting my quota,” yet, I was forced into a brand new role, using a brand new system & within two months, they told me I was not performing to their standards. Although, most companies review these quotas that are punishable with resignation every quarter. That week specifically, I was the least performing BDR, but their were several weeks I was the top seller that week for either personal or business products. Therefore, there’s always one performer at the bottom of the sales list, yet, I was the only fired for this reason. My partner was fired because of “spelling errors,” or atleast that’s what he was told, even though he remained one of the top selling BDR’s the entire time, some days making up to six sales a day. My CSS at the time told me specifically at the beginning of the role that they would never fire anyone without several warnings or discussions about performance, due to the new systems in place. Also, I was 8 months pregnant. I was hesitant on writing this post, but due to these two CSS’s decisions to let us both go for reasons that I could genuinely sue this company over, ultimately ruined our lives for several (seemingly very long) months. Like I said, my partner recieved several awards for top salesman (one within his first 90 days!), yet again, they let him go due to reasons that every single person makes there every single day. It was totally abuse of power from these two women due to impulsivity & emotional irregulation , instead of true logic & explanation (so we will never actually know why we were ever fired).
