The product has potential but is not there yet and as a result, Zumper puts the cart before the horse with the sales team regularly. The potential to hit revenue goals and earn a paycheck has come to a screeching halt for many since the leadership made major growth changes late fall of 2020. There’s a great level of fear with expressing what’s broken with senior sales leadership. When concerns are brought up, blame is shifted to employees and customers with no accountability on those who are steering the ship. A CSO who collectively tells the entire sales team “Maybe Zumper isn’t for you” is abusive and toxic. The turnover has become rampant with new and longer term sales employees. I believe everyone at Zumper wants the company to succeed but is afraid that at this pivotal point it’s not going to happen. Comp plans are changing quarterly and those plans not being rolled out until the quarter has already started. Sales team grew too big too fast before the product was ready resulting in setting most up to fail. Morale is low.
