Pros
- Flexible scheduling for students - Semi-competitive pay - 50% discount - Gratis is pretty good - Easy to make friends - Generally, easy tasks to complete - time off is generally pretty easy to get, except for holidays
Cons
- Pay disparity--BAs, Keyholders and Assistant manager don't have much of a pay difference between them - Getting called in on my days off, expected to stay late if someone decides not to come in - made to feel guilty if I didn't want to cover or switch someone's shifts - very catty at some times - manager sits in back all the time - some really rude, pretentious customers - holiday blackout days, very difficult to get holiday time with family - extended holiday hours - younger, college-aged employees don't care about their job - company communication down to retail level is poor--short notice given for visual changes, company meetings are inconvenient and unorganized (this is not true for all stores, some managers are very good at this), constant communication changes - Company has lost sight of it's vision since moving to NYC - forced to do makeup on people that don't pay for anything - inconsistent sales message: told store numbers matter than individual sales, but then reprimanded for not making goals. - hard to move up
