Pros
it's a freaking country clubl, the atmosphere is relaxed and I swear just about every woman who is in her childbearing days is pregnant and on maternity leave. There isn't alot of local technical expertise, so if you are a young person then this is great, you can get some broad training, go on lots of coarses and have some fun as you meet other 'challengers' in the company and then when someone else offers you a job you can quit and go work for some more money. Alternatively once you get five years into the company if you suck up enough to management and you do enough volunteer activities they will promote to management.
Cons
Lots is negative also: pay, the freaky management, the incompetent mid career staff they are trying to promote, and the total fake company lines. You can also deal with all the british and american staff in the foreign offices who come in to assure your work inside out and then because you risked you well at 50/50 and it didn't come in they want you to bend over to analyze why not, and what could have gone wrong and really it was the 50 that was supposed to have worked. Alternatively you can work a very ignored area such as production, since exploration is king there, and never EVER get noticed or promoted.
