Decent but could be better - Subsea Project Engineer bp Employee Review

Pros

The pay is decent, but lower than other major energy companies. Benefits are great. Job security in technical roles is good since they are understaffed and will continue to develop their assets in the GoM. Corporate culture is fairly laid back compared to other major energy companies.

Cons

Career growth is slow unless you get on the inside track with management or are a favored minority. Processes are slow and inefficient; it's a bit stifling if you are an overachiever and want to get ahead quickly.

Pros

Supportive team environment with good learning opportunities and exposure to large-scale projects. Compensation and benefits are competitive, and the company offers strong brand recognition and career development resources.

Cons

Decision-making can be slow due to layers of management, and processes sometimes feel overly bureaucratic. Workload and priorities can shift quickly, which may create stress depending on the team.
