Pros
Learning Experience A couple of cool clients Small Firm
Cons
You go into a company excited for the opportunity and being there, and come to find condescending micro management to the fullest. This is the culture behind d2. No room to grow, they take advantage of "green" publicists, set unrealistic demands, although you manage to cope for the sake of your job. Employee feedback is hardly taken. You go to work tense and go home tense. While the LA partner is much nicer, the NYC partner Ereka Dunn seems to take the lead and is an absolute monster, rude, unprofessional, condescending. If you are looking for a pit stop, might consider working here--to learn a little, but you wont grow at all, salary is very little, but thats no surprise in PR. It is really hard to keep the motivation and eagerness to work well when you are not valued as an employee or at least showed that you are. They have experienced a high turnover in employment and its no surprise. They basically find girls to do all the work and the partners do the "client management". As a company if you are going to take in that much work, then hire the necessary work force, if you can't afford to, then as an owner do some work too and dont take the eagerness and life out of young employees. You try to talk to them in a professional setting, mostly via email to explain a situation but in return you get capital letters and Ereka's favorit words ABOMINATION and ABYSMAL. You feel like you are back in an elementary school nightmare. Take this advise and pass on this one, there is more out there for you, with people that will really cherish and appreciate the hard work you put on.
