Pros

I really enjoyed my time at double e and am grateful for the year plus of experience and knowledge that I gained from working with great clients and a tight-knit, smart team. Due to the small company size, there is immense room to grow and ability to be hands on in all steps of the everyday PR process. I felt more responsibility at this job than most would at this point in their careers, but I take that as a good thing. AC's/AAE's also work with the clients everyday and pitch, write, and deliver results, but that's what makes it exciting. double e is fast-paced and has high expectations, and because of that the job feels very rewarding. Employees also get to work directly with the agency's President and Founder, who trusts that everyone has the talent and ability to deliver impactful PR results, no matter their title.

Cons

The workload at times can be heavy, but the agency's president is happy to help prioritize to-do lists or lend an extra hand if needed. There are a lot of moving parts to this job, which may not appeal to everybody, but it is a great learning experience for those passionate about PR and being fully immersed in the experience.

Pros

Able to leave the Chelsea office at reasonable hours - no slaving which is rare for NYC PR agencies of this size Health insurance is available Client roster is full of innovative businesses across the globe. You won't get this level of communication with clients of this caliber elsewhere when you're starting out or mid-level. There's hard work, it's a NYC PR firm with intelligent staff and clients, but employees do have the stories needed to secure stories if they stay focused and can write strong pitches. Office perks include massages, fruit, coffee, ample workspace. Good locale helps with food. New senior management has boosted the agency growth - there's no shortage of work, ever. You'll never find yourself twiddling thumbs. I've worked in this industry long enough that PR pros need guidance and hands-on management. The owner/founder makes it a point to firmly educate employees, even if that comes in the form of reviewing pitch emails numerous times, client communications, and other items 99% of managers/founders wouldn't get involved with. It is an unorthodox approach but it produces great results and an understanding that every word matters (something missing in today's world). Calling it micromanaging is unfair since many people in the office are trusted with a lot and require oversight. You're trusted to contribute to a growing company that does reward staff if they are loyal

Cons

Working from home is not available on a regular basis
