Pros
I really enjoyed working with the team at EECO. The internal culture was supportive, and I especially appreciated the leadership—particularly the Director of Project Management, who was organized, thoughtful, and responsive. Collaboration within the Core team was smooth, and I felt heard and respected.
Cons
The challenges however were with Crowdbotics the people we were subcontracted to, they had little to no regards for us and did not mind overworking us. The working relationship was often frustrating. Account Executives at CrowdBotics frequently oversold the scope and timelines of projects without consulting the actual delivery team. This led to clients expecting fully designed, front-end and back-end applications this is including desktop and mobile versions within three months. These expectations included design, QA, user feedback, and iteration, which was simply unrealistic.
Further complicating matters, when delivery timelines slipped (often due to these unrealistic promises), CrowdBotics sometimes withheld payment for hours worked, attributing it to client dissatisfaction or change requests, many of which stemmed from initial misalignment and lack of involvement of project managers in the early planning phase.
