Pros
If you lack talent, skills or motivation (or all of them), you have a fair chance of being able to coast for years without too much trouble due to the reigning mediocrity, lack of accountability, management who is incapable of assessing ane managing performance, and incomprehensible and conflicting targets which everyone knows cannot be reached. This applies especially to the Emerald (former Blue) division. Avoid like the plague unless you have no career and financial aspirations and you are ok coasting like most others!
Cons
Compensation is well below market value Benefits are not a penny above statutory (maternity, redundancy, etc) Annual pay raises well below inflation, so they are basically salary reductions in real terms The only company value is cost control and doing more with less, including tech, resources, headcount, recruitment budgets Extremely high turnover of anyone with a bit of skills or talent due to lack of rewards of any kind (except perfunctory awards and small prizes and treats) and friction between the talented individuals and the pervasive mediocrity in the company Overall ignorance and lack of implementation of basic business practices (including BD, marketing, customer support, tech, SEO, change management, communication, GDPR) Management completely unequipped to lead, manage, mentor, to drive commercial performance, to nurture talent, ignorant of business finance, and therefore unable to recognise or retain talent or at least to facilitate change driven by talent. This applies especially to the Emerald (former Blue) division, but frequently to the company in general. Avoid like the plague unless you have no career and financial aspirations and you are ok coasting like most others!
