Micro-management
Little room for growth
Upper management often interferes in recruiting process and forces underhanded actions to get the placement. Very unethical in this respect; they would disregard the operating contract rules with specific clients and force the recruiter to do the same. Further, if discovered, would use the recruiter as a scapegoat and blame their inexperience.
Minimal training.
Management focuses on punishing rather than developing their employees.
Bonuses often undercut by upper management because they would involve themselves in the recruitment process and argue that the recruiter did not do all of the work, therefore will not receive full bonus (which is often untrue).
Not a very positive work culture overall.
Thus company is a little fish in a big pond, and management expects to keep up with the giant recruiting firms. This seems to be what gets management involved in placements, and causes interference with the recruiters.
