Pros
The only way you’ll have fun working at HMV is if you get lucky and have a good bunch of co-workers.
Cons
Management and supervisors did not get along to the point there was no communication between them so it was easy to get told to do the wrong thing. Head office and regional managers are so out of touch with what actually goes on in store. It does not matter the amount of hard work you do on the shop floor and putting displays together, if you go a day without getting stupid email receipts you will basically just be shunned. Mind you, all KPI’s are options for customers so it’s not even in your control, they don’t seem to understand that you can’t make the customers say yes to what you’re offering. There’s not really a career ladder to climb at all, and even if there was the pay really isn’t worth it, maybe 20p more with 100% more stress.
