Many thanks for providing your feedback! We agree that our Online Instructor position is a great way to build your resume through hands-on work experience that allows you to teach your tech skills, use creativity to develop engaging lessons, and communicate effectively with your students and team. By adding teaching to your resume, you show employers that you know your stuff inside and out, and that you have leadership skills as well. It’s important to us that our team feels connected while working remotely. We use Slack to share project ideas and for non-work-related fun! Have you checked out the com-PET-ition channel?! We also encourage you to chat with your manager about other ways to interact with your team, perhaps by hosting a game night or group lesson planning session. Please feel free contact us at employeecare@idtech.com if you’d like to share additional ideas with us!

Pros

Travelling reimbursement Pays for lunch and for lodging sometimes (depends on location) Hires any college student with a pulse

Cons

Horrible hours, 60+ per week Terrible pay, minimum wage (with unpaid overtime) Expected to learn course material and make course plans off the clock Absolutely no punishments for students who are disruptive, ignore instructions, or bully, but you're expected to just deal with it Had to fly to THREE different states just for 8 WEEKS of employment Entire business model is to exploit desperate college students for cheap labor while extorting thousands of dollars from parents for what is essentially tech-themed babysitting
