Pros

-You'll know that you need to start looking for a new job about two months into the role so you won't be miserable too long. -Employees bond over shared misery, and the team will cheer for you when you move on to something better.

Cons

-The competition is blowing icometrix out of the water. In any customer facing role, you'll struggle to sell the product because the competition has become synonymous with neuroquantitative analysis. - Several customers asked for the competitor's product by name when reaching out through our website. When talking to customers, they referred to our product by the competitor's name regularly. - Clinicians frequently told us that icometrix software products were very inaccurate in clinical use. As a clinical specialist or salesperson, you almost never get a renewal because you can only sell someone an empty bag of promises once before they catch on. - Of the features that icometrix advertises is that they have a quality assurance team. That's their marketing speak for the reality that they have to have a team that manually correct measurements which the algorithm messes up on. This, of course, causes significant delays in clinic workflow. -Massive employee turnover. Many US frontline employees don't stay even a year because management is so dysfunctional and exploitative. -Company lures you in with promises of high Variable Compensation, but after starting you find out that the targets they set are not even close to attainable. From my understanding, the top performing sales reps weren't even getting to 50% of the goal. Clinical reps and salespeople weren't even bringing in enough revenue to cover their own salary. As a result, the compensation was not at all competitive. - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has no dedicated CPT code for reimbursement so clinics and hospitals refuse to buy. The reality is that icometrix will struggle to make sales until healthcare facilities receive reimbursement. - Marketing materials are full of buzzwords with no actual information. The website is even worse. -Management pulls ridiculous technicalities to pinch pennies on deals that clinical or salespeople win. This shortsighted behavior leads to massive amounts of turnover. I had multiple coworkers leave after management refused to compensate them for work they did. -People were fired frequently. This especially happened with commissioned employees, right when they were at the finish line of bringing in a large deal. I don't think this was a coincidence. -Roles are poorly defined. Since there is massive turnover, and the company is hemorrhaging money, they're regularly restructuring. Don't expect to be paid for the extra work they ask of you, however. - The company had to reach a settlement with the US Department of Labor because they were telling employees that they weren't allowed to discuss pay with each other. The CEO was one of the people doing this. This is, of course, illegal as these conversations are protected by law. -The CEO is the scientist cofounder. Has no idea how to manage and is a weak leader. He should have stepped down a long time ago. Instead, he refuses to give up his chair. Basically, the loudest person in management tell the CEO what to do and leads the company in his place. -Some individuals in management tend to micromanage to the point that they become too busy to even do their own jobs. -Raises are a joke. You make less every year if you stay because they don't keep up with the cost of living. -The CRM is a mess. Management had us create opportunities just to fill the funnel. Then we closed them out to reopen them again a couple of months later. The entire process happened repeatedly and seemed nonsensical. I suspect this is because they used these numbers to trick the board/investors to thinking that the company was doing better than it is. -The team is split across the US and Belgium. Expect early and late night calls due to the time difference. Most of these were pointless but mandatory.
