Pros

This business has some great ideas about a growing part of medicine supporting physician based infusions.

Cons

Lacks communication and support for nurses who implement the ideas and strive to provide quality infusion services to patients.

Pros

Management is excellent! From the immediate managers to every manager on up, they are fabulous and supportive. Pay is fair. Benefits are good. If you have great nursing skills and are independent, this is likely to be a good fit.

Cons

You must be familiar or willing to learn quickly the insurance side of medicine. If you are used to working in a hospital and treating patients regardless of their insurance, this may be a very frustrating job for you. IntraFUSION has their own Intake department (for insurance authorizations) and they are often difficult to work with and not expedient. This creates large amounts of stress on the nurses who have to interface with the patients and physicians, etc. (Be prepared for hostile conversations b/c of an Intake situation that you as a nurse have very little control over.) Auths are likely to be the absolute worst part of your job. Also, if you are someone who needs feedback and likes to be told you're doing a good job, this is not the place for you, as you work far away from your management and no one really sees what a good job you do. =) This is far different from a hospital setting and you are isolated.
