Decent pay and some well-rounded colleagues

All aspects of leadership and management couldn't make a decision to save their lives. Horrendous internal technology practices. Resistance to change on all fronts. Unprofessional management with no people skills or ability to manage people in any capacity. Archaic processes. Complete lack of work-life balance and inability to work flexibly in a modern environment. Certain managers being sheltered and encouraged by senior leadership to protect the interests of the business instead of making the right decision on behalf of the wellbeing of its employees. No ability to bring fourth any transformation due to lack of basic data.

A lot of autonomy and fairly good salaries.

Everything—from small details like not even providing coffee or milk in the office, to larger issues like misaligned strategic decisions and internal politics—contributes to a toxic culture. It’s common to hear conflicting versions of the truth from different people, which creates confusion and undermines trust. Staff are treated as disposable, with even long-standing employees let go regardless of loyalty or years of experience. This isn’t an innovative company; it’s sales-driven and focused on short-term results at the cost of engineering. That’s frustrating, because with their market share, they have the potential to build something genuinely novel. They promote a company-wide festival, but it’s the only social event of the year and feels more like a marketing exercise for LinkedIn than a genuine effort to appreciate employees.
