Pros

- Remote work - High level IC engineers are great to work with - Work/life balance in summer is good

Cons

- Abysmal management. No concrete feedback, surprise performance reviews based on "feeling". - Below average pay. Impossible to get a raise. - Haven't seen a single in-house promotion since working here. - Leadership seems disconnected from the product and outdoor community in general. - A surprising number of underperforming mid-to-senior level ICs.

Thank you for sharing your experience at onX. We’re glad you’ve found value in the flexibility of remote work, the strength of your peers, and the work/life balance. We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding management, compensation, and career growth. These are areas we take seriously and continue to invest in, including improvements to feedback processes, leadership development, and internal mobility. While we understand your concerns about pay and promotions, we want to share that onX regularly benchmarks compensation against market data to ensure we remain competitive. In the past year, we’ve seen a strong rate of internal promotions and transfers across the company as part of our ongoing commitment to employee growth and development. We value input like yours—it helps us improve. If you’re open to it, we encourage you to share additional feedback through our internal channels. Thanks again for your contributions and for being part of the onX team. —onX People and Culture Team

Pros

OnX is a great company to work for. The treat employees well and provide a challenging yet engaging work environment.

Cons

I don’t have a whole lot to complain about. At times, company policies and actions can feel corporate, but nothing that would ultimately turn me away.
