Pros

The work was challenging and substantively enjoyable.

Cons

Everything that was told to me during my interviews was a lie. The organization has no idea "who and what" it wants to be in the US, or Germany for that matter. They tried to implement a matrix and regional headquarters structure and are failing miserably at it - no behavioral changes were implemented so everyone that has been there for a while just keeps "doing what they have always done" and do not want to listen or engage with anyone that wants to make changes or do things differently - and why should they - they don't get rewarded for doing things differently! Management lacks any leadership or management skills. Employees are not valued. Discrimination, micromanagement and bad behavior by management is rampant. There is no transparency, integration efforts and senior leaders lack integrity. Leadership does not live out the "values" stated by the organization. The German leadership does not want to learn, appreciate or even tolerate American culture.
