Pros

Amazing office space with great facilities. Free events, parties, coffee, snacks...etc. You will make your way here if you can make a big deal out of small achievements and can market yourself.

Cons

The company invests in employer branding way more than employees themselves. Unfortunately, they hire a lot of talents and then lay other talents off. You can usually hear of a couple of people from different departments that suddenly left the company, and recently, the company has been recently posting more part time and student jobs than before. The are gradually taking benefits away. We used to have a week off called trivacation but they decided to cancel it this year! Career progression is very limited. The average team lead is leading a team of only 3 or 4. In a small company as trivago, this ratio doesn't make sense. Onboarding was very basic.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It’s sad to see that you’re overall not happy here. Having to lay off anyone is not a decision we take lightly. We had to make this very difficult decision in the summer of 2022 and since then have tried our best to only hire based on business needs. As we continue to grow and evolve as a company, we're constantly reviewing and refining our policies to ensure they meet the needs of our talents while aligning with our business goals. The decision to cancel trivacation was made to ensure that our talents can decide when exactly they want to be on holiday and take as much days as they need to recover. This will always remain the case as we have self-determined holidays. We appreciate your input will continue striving to improve the overall employee experience at trivago. Please feel free to reach out directly to any of our business partners or use our OfficeVibe tool if you have any further suggestions or concerns.

Pros

- free beer, cereals, milk, coffee and other small stuff - team events where you see your managers get drunk - one trip once a year where the whole company gets drunk - average age 25

Cons

- all the above benefits mean less salary for people while trivago pays less taxes - very inexperience middle managers that treat people like monkey - no way to move up because of older employees and flat hierarchy
