Pros
Fabulously friendly people, they let their consultants work very independently and drive their own learning as much as they want. The work from home philosophy makes it pretty flexible and the team support is really good. I enjoyed my time and felt very valued as an employee and by the customers. Their policy of ‘word of mouth’ marketing is lovely and sympathetic way of doing business with otherwise cash strapped schools desperate for help. You always felt like there was real value in what you were doing.
Cons
They don’t like promoting people or being innovative when it comes to growth. Their ethos is so school focused that the profit margins are usually minimal, which means good employees regularly have to move elsewhere for career progression and pay rises are fairly unheard of. It seems like most (if not all) employees who make it into management are white men - they probably needs to more actively work on their diversity and inclusion.
