Unfortunately, there were a couple of account managers who were extremely difficult to work with. One in particular would routinely reject candidates without valid reasoning and expected resumes to perfectly mirror job descriptions, which is not a realistic approach in recruitment. On several occasions, I found that she was rescreening candidates against completely unrelated positions and then holding that against us.
Another account manager preferred submitting her own candidates and gave them priority over recruiter submissions, which undermined the entire team’s efforts and made our roles redundant on her accounts.
After the leadership change in October, things worsened. The new reporting manager was disengaged, political, and unsupportive. He rarely addressed the challenges we faced with account managers and never advocated for us or our candidates. Instead, the blame often circled back to recruiters without fair assessment of the circumstances.
