Pros

- In the current job climate, this lean ad tech company stands out as an excellent choice. - The culture is great and they hire responsibly to ensure financial stability. This is an important attributes for those seeking a long-term career. - HR department is very responsive and demonstrates a genuine concern for employee well-being. - Good time off policy and my managers are accommodating and respectful of work life balance.

Cons

Not a specific drawback of the company, but it's worth noting that the AdTech industry as a whole evolves swiftly, requiring individuals to stay updated and continuously acquire new knowledge to remain up to date with the industry.

Pros

Extensive Employee Benefits The company offers a very competitive benefits package, including generous annual leave and comprehensive health insurance that covers both spouses and dependents.

Cons

Misleading Interview Stage During the interview, I was told there was a pipeline of strong leads to grow the APAC region. In reality, there were very few quality leads, and the sales team had no confirmed deals during my entire tenure. Joining this company was a mistake - looking back, I should have stayed with my previous employer where there was much more stability and a better understanding of the role. Unclear Scope & Moving Goalposts I was frequently told I wasn't doing "enough" while being pushed to work outside my job scope. When I took the initiative to provide valuable leads for the sales team, I was told it wasn't good enough and that I should be doing the sales outreach myself. Avoidant Management My reporting manager was not part of the interview process, which was a major red flag. He was consistently avoidant, often cancelling our weekly 1-1 calls at the last minute. No constructive feedback was ever provided, yet this lack of communication was somehow used against me in performance discussions. There is a clear lack of empathy and a failure to understand the local APAC culture. Illogical Office Policy The "official practice" of requiring office attendance in Singapore makes no sense. We are hot-desking without proper dedicated spaces, and since most clients are not based in SG, all meetings are virtual anyway. It is a rigid policy that ignores the practical reality of the job.

Equativ Response

Thank you for sharing your experience so openly. We are genuinely sorry that your time at Equativ did not meet your expectations, and we take this feedback seriously. We hear you on the areas you raised - role clarity, the way feedback and 1-1s were handled, and the sense of cultural disconnect. These matter to us, and we acknowledge that your experience fell short of what we aim to provide. The change in reporting line you experienced was an exceptional situation following a regional realignment, and not reflective of how we typically operate. We believe in transparent communication, constructive management, and an inclusive environment for every employee across every region. Your feedback is a genuine reminder that we need to keep strengthening this, especially as we grow in APAC. We wish you all the best in your next chapter, and thank you again for your honesty. Should you ever feel the need to talk things through, we remain open to that conversation. The Equativ People Team
