Pros

There tend to be nice customers if you take the time to learn your inventory and be knowledgeable. The workplace is friendly if you can make bonds with your coworkers. Base hourly pay is nice if you can make your monthly goals and commission.

Cons

The company doesn't care in the least about its employees. There is constant change of sales goals, sales motivation, and business management style. The regional manager is a terrible leader, exuding passive aggressive and overall untrustworthy attitude, caring, above all, for her own image over the issues and concerns of her district. There is constant miscommunication between corporate and stores, and corporate with itself. The company leaders are inconsistent and flighty, constantly changing policies and regulations. Each store is held to different standards, but are penalized in comparison to other stores. Manager and employee turnover is unbelievable, and once you're here, you'll know why. Training is nonexistent, and the workplace is preferred to be hostile in order to maintain "competition" between employees. Not to mention the product has lost much of its quality over the years, as well as modern style. Lots of customers comment on the age and "maturity" of the pieces, leaving a minimal clientele margin and next to impossible sales goals. This company is on the decline for a reason.

Pros

95% of the stores are located in airports so you get to see celebs and such in the terminals.

Cons

At the location I previously work at there is a huge conflict of interest that doesn't allow you to do your job effectively and efficiently. Who would work for a company that would allow such mess? You have a ridiculous monthly quota to meet which is impossible unless you shove the merchandise down peoples throat to buy. The merchandise is over priced and poorly made. There is an extreme amount of down time. It is extremely boring. You stand all day and many days see only 3 people walk in the store. You're expendable! Your job is at risk from day one. You can/will be fired without cause or just. You are not taking seriously by upper and in-store management. Therefore, you're severely under appreciated. There are absolutely opportunities for advancement. This is a very very small company. Your chances for upper advancement is non existing even if you have a degree. Health insurance is tremendously high. Don't waste your time. There is no work/life balance. You're schedule is what is it unless you swap with someone but since the store doesn't produce enough sales to warrant hiring more staff, you're basically stuck. Good luck. Glad I got the heck out of there! Don't consider working for this company. You'll get nowhere and probably wind up getting fired anyways.

Working for this company is like a joke without a punchline.

Pros

*Some nice pieces of jewelry, all handcrafted *A few nice repeat customers *There are some nice coworkers who understand what you are going through as they are going through the same

Cons

*I have never worked for such disorganized, distrustful and shady managers in all of my life. They will sugar coat what really goes on during the sweet as pie interview but once you are inside you'll soon find that the position is nothing but unnecessary strife. *Upper management at the store, regional and even corporate level are terrible. Promoting people to managers with little to no experience with no basic social skills will be the end of some of these stores. There is NO room for advancement no matter what they try to tell you. *The small staff is overworked as workers are abruptly fired and under appreciated. They are under constant fear of being replaced without warning as management does not value the years of tenure put in with the company. *Don't be fooled by the few positive reviews on here. I wish someone had warned me prior to accepting the job. This is basically a temporary position since they will fire you when they get tired of you no matter how much they actually need you or how good of a salesperson you are. You are beyond replaceable. There's a reason why the company has closed stores. There is no where to go but down from here for current employees.
