Pros

- Used to be a world class company - Used to be able to have a career there - Used to have world class benefits and employee welfare - Used to promise employees that the bonus structure is there in good or bad times

Cons

Short-sighted top management that decided - to use low crude prices and one year of negative earnings in 2020 as an excuse to lay off tens of thousands of workers worldwide in order to maintain dividends to shareholders (ie, themselves and other middle to top management positions in the company that have share options) instead of thinking of other ways to save more jobs in the company - the removal of coffee machines, free drink vending machines, other employee benefits, and even plants in order to save opex and maintain the dividend - Unequal treatment of employees, keeping mainly supervisors and managers who they like, and asking most working level employees to pack up and go - This resulted in significantly more attrition than expected from the employees who were spared from the knife - Remaining employees now have to cover the jobs of 2-3 people as many teams are now severely depleted - Many supervisors have been demoted to become individual contributors and doing working level jobs while receiving the same high salaries and benefits - Some supervisors have to cover 2-3 other job scopes as there are simply not enough people in the company now to cover the base load - There are still many deadweights in the company drawing big fat salaries and not doing anything to improve the business but they were retained due to favouritism - Now that crude prices are up and the company is in the black, they are thinking of ways to retain talent, this shows the short sighted mentality that the top management has - There is no longer job security at this company due to see-saw management decisions

Pros

HR. The hR is responsive with accordance to leave and pay. ONLY the Bangkok based HR.

Cons

Operations Technician title will definitely land you in Jurong refinery on the Mainland not JI. Since day 1 you attached to shift team, tell ur love ones that you will not be coming home as the person you left. You will be a different person. Pessimistic, hot headed, short tempered, depressed is what you will turn out to be. This is due to the toxic culture over in Jurong refinery. You will be the one to be most hardworking, kilat, jilat, bulat but ur superior will find one of ur mistake and use that to give you bad gradings. Oh gosh, i can go on but this will boil me up. Anyway, trust me brother, appreciate whr you are working now or atleast find a job which follows your discipline. There are better chances elsewhere.
