Pros

The students are great and deserve much more, especially since their tuition is SO high.

Cons

FIDM was sued by instructors in a class action lawsuit in which we were awarded $3.5M, that's million dollars. The practices of this institution finally caught up with them, and rightfully so. For decades they've abused all employees, in this case it was a few brave teachers who stepped forward for the benefit of all. All teachers are receiving an award for these grievances. Hopefully, they've learned their lesson.

Pros

Some of the people are pleasant. You stay busy and you are never bored. Can sometimes be a great work environment.

Cons

They want to keep adding to your job description and don't want to pay you enough to survive. Most of the Directors will smile in your face and talk bad about you behind your back like we are still in elementary school. I don't believe that half of the Directors have a clue of what they are doing. The majority of the Speakers Bureau is a HR nightmare. The place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Pros

Creative environment. Enthusiastic vibe from students. Well maintained building with access to lovely park and lots of nearby places to eat. Fairly flexible work schedule.

Cons

Lack of opportunity to move up. Poor communication within departments and between departments, leading to lack of notice about job opportunities. Entrenched administration with blatant favoritism. No apparent succession plan for aging administration. Stagnant pay for last 5 years while favorites continue to reap rewards.
