They will teach you the basics of a tax return, exposure to different types of returns.

Cons

The hours are horrible, some managers are condescending, changes are implemented but don't properly train staff, God forbid you speak up for yourself, if you're not a staff favorite they will treat you like the bottom of the barrel, the 401K match is below industry average.

Firm staff is nice, great for Interns, Associates and Supervisors

If you Are not a CPA or JD, There is no room for growth inside the firm, No Training, Very toxic, some partners are passive-aggressive, Siloed teams that at as a separate firm when they are not. No trainining, high turnover, They lay out everything is great but it is a mess once you get inside the frim. There is no guidance - they expect you to contact clients yet partners refuse to have let things be out of their control, No bonusses, no matching 401k - health insurance is far MORE expensive than other firms. Quick to fire - no incentives. 85-90 hr tax seasons - you will be there until 2am. you will work Sundays.
