If issues come up, they will try to support you (though they often side with the client). The job is not too bad if you’re okay with being in a babysitter.
Cons
Very long commutes: I was consistently sent to faraway houses, often taking more than an hour to get home during rush hour. I asked to not have every single house that far away but was told they could not do anything. This was the main reason I felt this job was unsustainable. 25 min drive to the houses and 70 min drives home were not sustainable for me. Unpaid work expectations: You’re expected to check your work phone and answer coordinator calls outside of work hours without pay. Frequent after-hours calls: My coordinator often called outside of work hours for 20-minute unpaid conversations. No breaks during shifts.somteimes you get to sit down when the baby sleeps, but sometimes you dont. Youre also not allowed to leave the house for your lunch, end it can be difficult to eat when youre in a house with bedbugs, cackroaches, smells... Unpaid time: If you’re a minute late clocking in or out early, they don’t pay you for the first or last 15 minutes. But you still have to get the clients signature, which you can only do after you clocked out, so you will always stay longer, because this is when they start chatting. This combined with my long commutes created wery long days Rules are unclear: They tell you the rules but don’t enforce them, making things confusing and difficult to navigate. Felt taken advantage of for having a car, as all my clients were placed far away when my coworkers had different experiences. If you have a car, dont tell them!
