Pros

Office space has nice big windows - plenty of sunlight in the day. Pantry is often well-stocked with drinks and snacks. Walking distance to the MRT and a handful of food options.

Cons

The husband and wife duo that run the company are the worst managers I have encountered. From a business perspective, the founders have no clue what they’re doing - no business plan, no direction. From an HR perspective, they are unprofessional, racist, and behave like gossipy employees. You might have come across their endless stream of job ads for the same positions and wondered if they’re expanding the team. No they’re not. They’re looking for the next dispensable employee to replace the one that had just left. To give you an idea of how bad the situation is, there are usually 8-10 employed staff in the HQ, and I have witnessed a turnover of roughly 15 employees during my stint there. My experience has been that there often is no clear instruction from the founders despite their intense micromanagement style. Ironic, I know. They may give you contradictory, vague, or unconstructive instruction and expect you to interpret it. If you don’t interpret it the ‘right’ way, get ready for some backlash. They may even ask you to provide comprehensive data analyses but ultimately make decisions at whim. Also expect texts during non-working hours expecting you to complete an urgent but last minute task. The lack of communication also contributed to my unpleasant experience at the company. Since the founders only show up on some days at around lunchtime, if at all, most communication is done via WhatsApp or Slack, leaving for plenty of room for miscommunication. Additionally, there have been times when the founders do not respond at all to your messages despite the urgency of the matter. Sometimes for more than a day. They also seemed fond of getting in the way of their employees meeting deadlines by making unnecessary and/or unreasonable last minute changes, and this has even happened without the affected parties being informed. However, the cherry on the cake has to be the founders’ utter lack of professionalism. In addition to being the worst managers I’ve come across, they also rank at the top of my list of disrespectful people. Explicit language (both verbal and over text), racist remarks and homophobic jokes coming from the founders have been witnessed by myself and other employees. They also blatantly exercise preferential treatment of employees, ostracising some while participating, sometimes even initiating, gossiping sessions with others. I strongly believe the founders' behaviours reflect poorly on them not just as managers, but also has decent human beings and never expected the bosses of a company of this scale to behave like this. I would not recommend anyone to work at this company under any circumstances. But if you do, be sure to read your contract thoroughly and ensure all mutually agreed upon matters are confirmed or clarified in black and white.

Pros

They have dental claim and you can order snacks or drinks you preferred for the pantry. Employers are not particular if you are late for work (not more than 30mins). cozy and quiet working environment

Cons

Not enough communications between employers and employees. Employers are biased to some of the employees. Some of the employees created politics, an unhealthy environment to work in.

Pros

Located near-ish MRT and bus stops.

Cons

In my opinion, the owners are the worst managers I have ever had. Along with their lack of business knowledge, verbal abuse, swearing, and shouting were not uncommon. Racist and homophobic comments (occasionally about other employees) were openly made. There seemed to be a preference for a specific nationality and race. This was not just with the upper management but also some of the other employees. Based on my experience there, the owners believe they can do everyone else’s jobs better and will pull in people from unrelated teams to “consult” (aka blindly agree) on their decisions. There is little trust for the employees and micromanagement is common. They want “yes men” as opposed to competent, knowledgeable employees. Some of the other employees were also quick to throw people under the bus and not understanding something was met with negativity. During my time there, a few of the employees were not willing to listen to explanations and rarely took other opinions into consideration. This made cross-team collaboration quite painful. Working overtime (including weekends) was expected (occasionally forced) and no compensation was given. Expect tight deadlines and last minute feedback (usually pointless) with no rationale. Praise does not exist. VERY high turnover rate, no orientation, no learning curve, and no room for progression.
