Pros

Pay and office space Hours of work are flexible somewhat Engineers are great

Cons

- toxic toxic toxic there is very little teamwork that is genuine. - no job security as people just disappear after 2-3 months especially the smart ones. -CEO never gave a speech, never talks about the mission or vision statement of the company or product. He fires main people and doesn’t address it to the small company. He asks you to pitch to his rich friends in china which is the one thing he should be doing himself! He is immature, loves the toxicity and goes behind your back. He is by far rude and disrespectful to the fields he knows nothing about but pretends like he does. He sends mass emails out to his entire team threatening them that they better be productive or else… and this is his idea of Monday motivation. - its a totalitarian boss looking down at you environment. The company only exists because a rich person is fueling it for who knows what reason. It has been two years and no beta version, which is a joke in the tech startup world. - HR is the core of all problems. -the people who are there are either engineers who are protected by the head of eng or are politicians. May the best politician collect the most pay checks until no more.

A shameful experience working here

Pros

Some great coworkers and work environments.

Cons

The CEO is a hypocrite. In personal conversations and meetings, he makes a lot of promises about stock, your title, job security etc., then he will immediately lay off people in whatever reason or no reason. Trust the legit 1-star review and ignore the boosting review. Many employees here had great experiences before, but nobody can save this sinking boat. Only flattery can make you survive a little longer. Here is not the place you can put your talent. I sadly watched that this environment has changed too many conscientious people into silence. More CEO taking over a department, more chaos happen in that team. Their buggy product not only lose customers’s trust, but also employees’. How can you sale a homemade rocket to truck driver? No leadership knows what this CEO want to do. He looks hiding something, and you never figure out what the valid strategy is. I feel shameful wasting my time here. If you don’t want to suffer from a toxic workspace, you are better to do your due diligent before join. If you are only looking for a “job”, ask more money to heal your future mental damage.

Pros

Most employees are lovely people with good intentions and genuine desire to create value in their roles.

Cons

Where do I start...how about at the top? The CEO has received funding from an investor who has shown ZERO interest in company performance or results. The CEO displays ZERO operating experience in a technology startup. The CEO has ZERO strategy, operating plan or budget. He has ZERO interest in team collaboration, discussing difficult strategic questions, or providing any direction or constructive feedback. He has ZERO people or communication skills, does not interact with employees at company events and avoids group meetings at all costs. The company has built ZERO viable or differentiated products in the market due to the lack of direction or prioritization. There is a repeated pattern of hiring “leaders” representing functional areas, promoting them, demoting them, ignoring them, and then randomly interrogating their value to the organization and then most often letting them go. The CEO hires and fires employees erratically while the remaining teams are left to figure out how to absorb the changes. Morale is questionable at best and sugar-coated with in-office gatherings. If you’re seriously considering a position here, get control over your exit terms in your employment contract before you start and be prepared to be let down in a big way.
