Pros
Having worked for First Allegiance for 6 years in a management position, I saw and know a great deal about this company - it’s Executive Management Team, it’s staff and the tremendous benefits afforded to their employees. I left FA for growth and knowing that I was leaving something that was unique and “family” minded. It was a bitter-sweet departure.
The CEO and COO of FA are extraordinary in the care and attention that they offer every employee. The benefit of the doubt is always given to the employee. Tremendous expense and effort is spent in creating a warm, welcoming, supportive environment for their staff. The office is bright, clean with a full kitchen, employee lounge with comfortable sofa, chairs, Keurig coffee, a fridge stocked with creamer, milk, fresh veggies, dips, fresh fruits, yogurt, protein bars and if the COO notices that you prefer organic milk, it suddenly appears in the fridge for you. There is a gorgeous massage room with two state of the art massage chairs where employees schedule their time for a massage and are paid for their time. Many employees schedule a standing weekly massage and enjoy that time together. It’s really lovely.
I am aware of innumerable acts of generousity that the CEO and COO quietly perform for anyone who comes to them in need, or anyone whom they learn of having a financial or personal issue. For myself, when my mother was in hospice they in essence set me free to be with my mother from March through to July when she passed. They never made me feel bad about leaving the office , or for being distracted from my work. I was paid for all of the time that I missed and it was a lot of time. When my mother did pass, they sent me so much food and wine, I was able to feed family and friends for 5 days. Their generosity and caring is extraordinary, unmeasured and unheard of.
The company environment is inclusive. Management is highly supportive to its staff and always working to the demands of clients and vendors. Some of the vendors can be very challenging because they fail to meet the clearly defined, client photo requirements that must be satisfied for payment. In my years working at FA I witnessed the COO and CEO authorize hundreds of thousands of dollars in unsupported payments to vendors - at their expense- knowing the money would not be recouped. This company values and cares for the vendors who are true partners and support the objective of completing good work that all parties can get paid for by providing the photos the clients require to support payment approval.
The people who work for First Allegiance overall are committed professionals who come to work to put a good day in and support the goals and objectives of the organization. Not all rise to this description but the majority of the staff are outstanding. They will do whatever it takes to help the company and the vendors meet success.
There is so much that I miss about First Allegiance and I would encourage those who seek a great place to work, to apply and know that while you will work hard, you will never be as valued in such a personal and demonstrative way as you are at First Allegiance.
Cons
New employees should seek out that strong core group for positive support.
