FischTank PR has an employee rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars, based on 15 company reviews on Glassdoor which indicates that most employees have an excellent working experience there. The FischTank PR employee rating is in line with the average (within 1 standard deviation) for employers within the Media and communication industry (3.7 stars).
FischTank is a great place to work. They have a client roster full of impressive, innovative companies, especially within climate/sustainability. Everyone's expected to show up and work hard, but they understand work-life balance (every other Friday off). They've gone through significant growth over the last 5+ years and continue to evolve to meet the needs of both their employees and clients.
Cons
Fast-moving work environment. Can be difficult to work on various accounts with different leads/team members. Some high-level subject matter (climate, b2b tech) that may not interest everyone.

We appreciate you leaving this review which we feel reflects FischTank PR very accurately. We do push our colleagues (and clients) during the work week, because that is how results are produced. A strong work ethic and desire to execute assertive communications and media outreach are absolute musts for any professional considering FischTank.
While we expect hard work and focus during the week, we also respect work/life balance which is why we've instituted the 4.5 day work week you referenced, as well as flexible hour shifting, 15 PTO days (to start), and most important - a respect for evenings and weekends.
Your advice is not lost on us either. Being in growth mode is good, but not at the expense of colleagues or clients, so we will work hard to improve processes and structure. Thank you!
Fully remote work with opportunities to meet your colleagues face to face through trips and social events. Also, if you are truly passionate about cleantech media relations, this is the spot for you.
Cons
This company likes to pick and choose when to enforce certain rules, policies, and so called best practices. In other words, as long as you are bringing in results (and it doesn't matter how), you can treat your colleagues however you want. Some people can get away with behavior and actions that others are absolutely not allowed to do -- it's a huge double standard here that proves to be the breaking point for some.

Hi there. Just to clarify, while your position was remote based on your location, the majority of FischTank team members are in the office once or twice per week. We are not a fully remote agency.
Thank you for your feedback regarding our team. Yes, we are results oriented, but no, we do not allow anyone to treat colleagues however they want. I'm sorry you felt that way, and wish you luck in the future.
Great environment, great people. I really enjoyed working there.
Cons
All remote working, unless that’s something you like.

Hi there, and thank you for leaving a review on Glassdoor! First, we appreciate the kind words about the environment and people here. We do our best and are happy you found it to be so positive.
I'm glad you brought up the physical work setting as it may answer questions from current and future candidates. Just to be clear, we are not all remote work, our office opened in late 2020 and has remained open to all FischTank members. That being said, we have made a more concerted effort of late to bring in our non-NYC-area team members, namely by flying (or training) in those out-of-towners on an every other month basis.
Otherwise, our NYC-area team members have been asked (but not mandated) to spend one day per week in the office.
Thank you again for bringing this up so I can clarify for future candidates, and best of luck!
