Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm glad you enjoyed the flexibility we have here at FitFlop, we work hard to ensure we're focused on productivity and output rather than hours and have a number of flexible working initiatives in place. We're sorry to hear that you don't feel you had much support from management, it's so important that our People Leaders are investing time in their teams, helping them with the day to day as well as development. It's unfortunate we weren't aware of this and weren't able to support more on this whilst you were with the company.

Used to be great, not anymore

Pros

The people(excluding the CEO/COO/CFO/CPO/CTO etc. team) are amazing.

Cons

It used to be a great company to work for, when they say "they care about the employee" they use to mean it, not anymore. You are just a number. They say they are flexible but they are not. They say the welfare of their staff is important but it isn't. They're a typical company that says one thing and does another. Ever since the new CEO started it's been downhill, all they care about is getting the big sales in while working their people to the bone and to the point of burn out... and then ask you to take on more. The other big shift has been hiring men for a lot of the management or director roles, very sad as this started as a women-led company and FitFlop used to be a champion of empowering and promoting women, not so much anymore.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, although we are sorry to hear that you were unhappy at FitFlop and that how you felt changed across the 5-7 years you were with us. As a leadership team we're proud both of the ambitious growth plan we have, and also many of the positive initiatives we've been able to roll out and Our Feel Good Champions and Mental Health First Aiders continue to really make a difference. We're also proud we have been able to increase pay and award bonus when many retailers are experiencing hard times. We recognise that times are hard and have supported with Cost of Living payments, hardship fund and financial education. We have more investment in our people about to launch very soon around Learning & Development and personal coaching. We're really aware of, and open about the make up of our Exec Team, which has is 25% female, but we do continue to champion women including through our International Women's Day panel and championing and profiling of our predominately female Supply Chain & Operations leaders. We have also established the Enterprise Team (the next level of senior directors) which is 80% female with the intent to support diverse succession pathways. FitFlop has a very flexible hybrid policy where we are in the office 2-3 days per week and while that might not work for everyone we are confident it is the right balance for us and means we come together and connect which supports our relationships and performance.

FitFlop or just Flop?

Pros

Good benefits and good camaraderie between colleagues.

Cons

The company will not move forward until the founder stops interfering on absolutely everything. It is like a dictatorship. Everything has to be approved but her and if she does not like somebody she just makes sure the person is sacked. I have NEVER worked for a company like this and I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's great to hear that you appreciated our benefits and had a good relationship with your colleagues, but we're sorry to hear that there were other areas that weren't such a good fit for you. We are an entrepreneurial company - and we believe that our desire to do better, and be better (absolutely lead and driven by our founder) is what keeps us growing and progressing, and we've been pleased to see other reviews on here that really recognise and appreciate that. We're also committed to being fair and balanced in decisions that we make, even if that means making a tough call sometimes. I hope that your next role is somewhere that is a closer fit for what you are looking for, and wish you every success for the future.
