Pros

There is no good reason to work at the Fitzwilliam Hotel. At first, I really liked this place and the professionalism, but I quickly realized that it was lies and why most of the employees hates working there.

Cons

Work at this hotel will only make you want to stop working in the hospitality industry. Your experience at this hotel doesn't matter, nobody cares. Management is absolutely disrespectful, takes advantage of your total commitments to the company, to lie to you, manipulate you and use you only to do their job without getting anything for it in return, but only to cover their mistakes, laziness and incompetence. The work environment is toxic, new employees are bullied, many employees refuse to speak English and only creates dramas. Work issues or accident report are ignored, no one can be trusted and management will expect you to do much more or a different job than what you are supposed to, and will make you understand that if you do not agree or if you report anything to the General Management, you lost your employment, with no reliable excuses, without been previously warned of anything, and with document attached to your agreement, who does not belong to you, without your knowledge or consent to it. This regrettable experience was only a waste of time, of energy and above all integrity.

Pros

There are very few, but the City centre location was handy

Cons

Poor management, workplace bullying, a company and management that don’t care about staff, General Manager won’t spend any money to make staff lives easier, Sales Management are bullies, expectations too high, basement office dirty and with no daylight - sitting above the Kitchen grease traps. A number of staff would complain about getting sick but this was never looked into. Humiliation from management on daily basis. Poor salaries for the amount of hours expected from staff. No benefits, no meals on duty, very strict working conditions.

Pros

Everyone is super friendly and professional. I would highly recommend to ppl with passion for the industry to give it a shot there. Hotel is beautiful, clientele top class - 5 stars all the way. Great people and excellent management. One of the best senior management staff would be Kevin Carroll - absolutely incredible professional. Super friendly, very knowledgeable and a natural motivator. This gentleman is a go-to person, always finds time and solves any issue. No cheese here - if you don't believe me - go and have a casual chat with Kevin. All front desk staff - superstars!

Cons

As it isn't a big chain, not so much opportunity to move to different locations but it isn't a real downside.
