Pros

- Some people are actually fun to work and they make the otherwise toxic environment somewhat bearable.

Cons

- Micromanagement - Unrealistic deadlines. Promises are made to the customer without any consideration of the development team and their backlog. - Forced work culture. You are supposed to attend every event and outings whether you feel like it or not. Most of these events occur outside the work hours taking away your already small personal time. - No work life balance. Yes it is a startup and trust me they will make sure to reiterate this over and over but when it starts messing with your personal life everyday, then it is not fun anymore. You basically have to give your everything if you want to work here. - Unable to take criticism. They will ask you for criticism but when you actually bring valid points then either they will make excuses (usually in the lines of we are a startup so its fine) or they will turn a deaf ear. - Passive aggressive remarks. Some snarky or passive aggressive comments will be thrown whenever someone messes up but they will never say it to your face.

Pros

Exposure to some technologies which are trending (albeit without any true guidance)

Cons

- Exploiting young talent in the name of passion - Embarrassingly low compensation when compared with the amount of time you put in - zero time for personal life with expectations to be in the office even on weekends / night time - absolutely no regard for mental health / well being of employees - seniors engineers are very informal and take things personally - any mistake in the project will be your mistake, any shortcoming from the management's end will also be your mistake - unrealistic expectations from new employees - works on standard hire and burn employees out model - discussions of openly not hiring female engineers because they "won't put as much effort as guys do"

This is probably the most dishonest review that we have ever come across. So, let me take some time to address each comment made in this review: "Exploiting young talent in the name of passion" -- at FlytBase we are building the world's leading drone autonomy platform. A quick Google search will help you evaluate the quality of work and the impact that is creating at a global level. It is not clear why would you consider anyone participating in such amazing and exciting work as being "exploited". "Embarrassingly low compensation when compared with the amount of time you put in - zero time for personal life with expectations to be in the office even on weekends / night time - absolutely no regard for mental health / well being of employees" -- FlytBase offers one of the best cash-compensations in the industry with no hidden/discretionary components to bloat up the CTCs. We have zero interest in playing those games. On top of that, we have a very active ESOP program, and a large number of team-members (everyone with a long term alignment) are a part of that. This ensures that everyone's interests are aligned, and we all share the rewards/upside as the company makes progress. "works on standard hire and burn employees out model" -- This is complete BS. Please talk to any of our team members who are doing world-class product development and take immense pride in their work to understand the true spirit that drives us all at FlytBase. "discussions of openly not hiring female engineers because they "won't put as much effort as guys do"" -- This is hitting below the belt, and makes zero sense, given the number of amazing and talented women team-members at FlytBase. All of them are a part of FlytBase not because of their gender, but because they are the best people for the job that they are responsible for. They are here on their merit, and they are making amazing contributions to the team and making all of us proud. Again, please feel free to reach out to any of our women colleagues to get the true picture, instead of trusting an anonymous comment. We take our "culture" quite seriously. Of course, we are not a fit for everyone, and we don't intend to be so. We are an amazing place for people who wish to genuinely pursue their passions and want to completely immerse themselves in building great products with amazing team members. We are a really BAD fit for people who treat work as a punishment, and prefer to work by the clock. This is similar to how a given phone cannot be a great fit for everyone. Some phones are designed for great battery life, and others are designed to be extremely light weight. Expecting a phone with a great battery life to be the lightest phone on the market is a wrong expectation to have. While one phone will be a perfect fit for someone, and same phone will be a complete misfit for someone else. Same is the case with a company/team and an individual. We are amazing place for a certain set of people (passionate about building world-class products and having fun while doing it), and are a complete misfit for another set of people (looking to do regular/monotonous work for a certain number of hours everyday).

Pros

I wish there was an option to give stars in negative :(

Cons

Let me use AI and provide you with the cons for this Google & Netflix level organization! Here it goes: FlytBase Pvt. Ltd. claims to have a culture similar to Google and Netflix, but in reality, it is nowhere close. The management makes tall claims about "world-class infrastructure" and "market-leading salaries," but these are just words with no substance. The work environment is toxic, with rampant favoritism and a leadership team that has no real vision or understanding of employee well-being. A few key issues: Favoritism at its Peak: Only a select group of people get recognition and opportunities, while others are left to struggle without growth or appreciation. Merit and talent mean nothing here. False Claims on Culture: The CEO believes FlytBase is the center of the universe and expects employees to have no life beyond work. Work-life balance is non-existent. Unfair Salary Structure: Freshers are often paid more than experienced professionals, leading to dissatisfaction and high attrition. AI Obsession Gone Too Far: The CEO (taklu) genuinely thinks AI is Bhagwan and that humans are clueless. Every discussion revolves around AI as if nothing else matters. Reality check—AI is a tool, not a god. Toxic Work Environment: Employees are expected to worship AI and FlytBase as if there’s nothing beyond it. If management actually conducted an honest cultural survey, the majority of employees would rate the company negatively. Don't just take my word for it—check the Google reviews and Glassdoor reviews. You'll find similar experiences. If you value your career growth, mental well-being, and work-life balance, stay away from FlytBase.

Thank you for your feedback. While the tone is clearly emotional, we respect that everyone’s experience is valid—and often shaped by whether or not they feel aligned with how we work. Let us be very clear: FlytBase is not the right workplace for everyone. We are not trying to be a copy of Google or Netflix. We are building something different—something much harder. We are a frontier tech company pioneering drone autonomy and physical AI. That means we have chosen a path that demands clarity of thought, extreme ownership, fast iteration, and a willingness to rethink how work gets done in the AI era. Yes, AI is foundational to how we operate—because it is the biggest unlock of our time. We don’t treat it like a buzzword. We treat it like infrastructure. If someone wants to work at a company where AI is just a tool in a slide deck, they will feel frustrated here. If they want to build with AI, think with AI, and grow with AI, they will feel right at home. Now, to address a few points: * Favoritism vs Merit: We hold a very high bar for execution and alignment with our culture. Recognition follows outcomes—not seniority or airtime. People who consistently take ownership and move fast naturally become leaders here. If that feels like favoritism, we understand—but we stand by it. * Work-Life Balance: We don’t track hours. We don’t ask people to stay late. But we do expect people to be deeply engaged with their craft and the mission. We are transparent about this. FlytBase is for builders, not passengers. * Compensation: We offer market-leading salaries for high performers—regardless of age or experience. If a fresher is outperforming an experienced peer, we believe they should be rewarded accordingly. That’s not unfair—it’s meritocratic. * Toxicity Allegations: We take culture very seriously. We’ve written our operating principles publicly (e.g. "Context over Control", "Talent Culture Density") and use them to guide decisions, not just make posters. But we don’t confuse comfort with positivity. We prioritize clarity, autonomy, and speed over conventional notions of workplace “niceness.” If you’re someone who wants a laid-back job, stable routines, and a clear chain of command—FlytBase will feel intense and chaotic. But if you’re someone who wants to push the edge of what’s possible, shape the future of autonomy, and grow at 10x speed—we invite you to look deeper. We’re not perfect. We’re evolving every day. But we are unapologetically building FlytBase for those who want to do the best work of their lives.
